A truly cooperative affair, this dinner (and shortlist). The tasks were split pretty evenly between my mother (appetizers), my husband (first course), my father (meat course and sides) and myself (fish course and dessert).
And while there were certainly lots of cooks sticking their fingers in the pot, the result was nothing short of harmonious.
dinner for 8 plus a roaring fire
foie gras with cornichons and toast
herbed ricotta, labne with za’atar, pita chips
risotto ai tartufi (truffle risotto)
seared sea scallops and apple cider braised pork belly on buttercup squash puree
grilled ribeye steaks
roasted stuffed tomatoes
custard-filled cornbread with maple syrup and blueberries
